USAF, RAF get British troops home from deployment sooner, rather than later
RAF MILDENHALL, England -- British troops from 15 Squadron Royal Air Force Regiment, stationed at nearby RAF Honington, return home from a deployment in Afghanistan, via RAF Mildenhall March 15, 2011. Stepping off a commercial aircraft at RAF Mildenhall, the British military members were greeted by their acting station commander, Wing Commander Paul Weaver-Smith, chief of staff of RAF Honington Force Headquarters, and Squadron Leader Rick Fryer, RAF Mildenhall station commander. Landing here instead of at RAF Brize Norton, near Oxford, saved the British troops three to four hours travel time, and allowed them to get home to their families much sooner.
