Confined space facility provides additional training options for firefighters

RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Crew Manager Dave Bootman, 100th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department, descends into the confined space trainer here March 8, 2011, during a training exercise in the newly-built facility. The trainer provides firefighters multiple ways of reaching a victim, allowing use of different equipment, depending on the scenario. Once inside, firefighters can face a variety of potential hazards, which make it more difficult for the rescuers to manouever a victim if a backboard, litter or basket has to be used.
