Cracking down on metal fatigue
RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Airman 1st Class Christopher Bovill, 100th Maintenance Squadron non destructive journeyman, puts a KC-135 nose landing gear hydraulic sub-assembly into a dryer during a florescent dye penetrant inspection. The landing gear is placed in the dryer to dry off all remaining fluids that are present, leaving only the florescent dye penetrant present in any cracks in the gear.
