Sparks are flying
RAF MILDENHALL, England -- A contractor uses a serrated metal blade to chip off slag from a piece of steel, which will be linked to the district heating main and one of the boiler houses on base. The building it was originally linked to is being demolished. Once the slag is cleaned off, the metal will be welded to protect it from the elements. (U.S. Air Force photo/Karen Abeyasekere)
