Tearing it up

RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Local contractors use a road planer to remove about 170 millimeters of concrete with into the back of a dump truck in the initial stages of construction at Washington Square here. About 1,600 tons of concrete were removed from the square in a few days to begin transforming the parking lot into a pedestrian-friendly green space. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Thomas Trower)
