Tearing it up

RAF MILDENHALL, England -- David Smith, a local contractor, steers a road planer here in the first stage of demolition of Washington Square. The benefits of the construction are twofold. The site will become a campus-like environment with sidewalks, lawns and trees and the 100th Civil Engineer Squadron can repair sanitation and storm sewers located under the square.
