Do not pet the dog!

RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Military Working Dog Vvonya stands guard at the feet of "bad guy" Staff Sgt. Philip Bradt, 100th Security Forces Squadron MWD handler, as handler Staff Sgt. Raymond McMahon keeps a tight hold of her leash. In this stage of training, the bad guy gets aggressive by shouting at the handler and coming towards the handler and the dog, thus posing a threat. If the aggressor continues when asked to stop, the dog is let loose and allowed to chase him, until he surrenders. The dog is then called off by the handler, but will sit as close as possible to the bad guy, showing that it is ready to attack if necessary. The MWD stays in that position as the handler performs a quick physical search, to ensure the person is not carrying any weapons or other items that could cause harm.
