Commentary: Deployment gives fresh perspective on needs vs. wants

After completing a quality assessment quality check mission in the nearby village of Kadanak, Master Sgt. Tracy DeMarco, Farah Provincial Reconstruction Team photojournalist, returns with the convoy to Forward Operating Base Farah, Afghanistan, Nov. 4, 2009. “I could exhale when we returned to our FOB and every vehicle pulled through the gate. Every day we made it back safe with no one injured was a good day,” said Sergeant DeMarco.
