Bright ideas
RAF MILDENHALL, England -- United States Air Forces in Europe is now almost five months into its year-long Energy Awareness campaign, which kicked off in October 2009. "It's important for Airmen, civilians, host nation employees and family members to embrace a cultural change in how we live and work to save energy," said Maj. Gen. William Chambers, USAFE vice commander, in an article published at the start of the campaign. "The USAFE Energy Awareness Campaign promotes persistent educational initiatives to ensure that everyone thinks about energy conservation in everything they do." Airmen are reminded to conserve energy where possible. Small actions like turning off lights and computer monitors when not in use can mean big savings in the long run.
