Flags lowered in respect for late congressman
RAF MILDENHALL, England – The United States and Royal Air Force flags fly at half-staff outside the 100th Air Refueling Wing command building Feb. 9. The flags were lowered to honor Rep. John Murtha, a Democratic congressman from Pennsylvania, who passed away Feb. 8 at age 77. According to Title 4 of the United States Code, the U.S. flag is lowered to half-staff on the day of and one day after the death of any member of Congress. (U.S Air Force photo by Staff Sgt.
