KC-135 helps firefighters keep up-to-date with training
Staff Sgt. Marcus Modey, 100th Civil Engineer Fire Department, leads a team of four firefighters inside a KC-135 Stratotanker from a door above the wing, during an training exercise Nov. 13 at RAF Mildenhall. The firefighters entered the aircraft, which had a simulated engine fire, to search for "unaccounted personnel." Hands-on training is performed quarterly by the fire department, to help keep firefighters familiar with the interior layout of the aircraft and proper shut-down procedures. It also prepares them for different situations they could encounter with this type of emergency. (U.S. Air Force photo by Karen Abeyasekere)
