Clear for takeoff
100th Maintenance Squadron crew chiefs remove hundreds of panels from a KC-135 Stratotanker within the first day of a major periodic inspection, July 10, 2007. Each of the four areas of the aircraft has a cart to place panels on after they have been removed from the aircraft. The process also calls for all the screws or bolts to be packaged and attached to the panel they belong to. Removing the panels allows maintainers to check for corrosion or other forms of wear and tear, and gives them access to systems that receive periodic review. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt.
