‘Give me $20,000 and I’ll save you $200,000 … ’

The distribution ring main runs from the filter system to the storage tanks. Paul Murfitt, 100th Civil Engineer Squadron, came up with the idea to recycle JP-8 so it can be used as heating fuel. With help from Paul Gee, Brian MacKender and James Tarver, all 100th CES civilian employees, he built the equipment using recycled parts. Lab results showed the recycled fuel was pretty close to raw JP-8. (U.S. Air Force photo by Karen Abeyasekere)
