‘Give me $20,000 and I’ll save you $200,000 … ’
Paul Murfitt, a Ministry of Defence employee in the 100th Civil Engineer Squadron, vents air from the automatic valve on the filter equipment he built to recycle JP-8. The filter can recycle the fuel so it can be made into heating oil. This gives a saving of $4 per gallon ($2 to buy it and $2 to dispose of it) for the U.S. Air Force.
