Thorpe Abbots memorial ceremony
A display of model aircraft, many of which display the same “Box D” insignia on the tail of RAF Mildenhall’s KC-135 fleet, sits in one of several buildings at Thorpe Abbots, the original home of the 100th Bomb Group in World War II. The airfield and its buildings have been transformed into a museum dedicated to World War II aviation. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Austin M. May)
