100th CES Airmen take on first demolition
Airman 1st Class Joshua Smith from the 100th Civil Engineer Squadron uses a pneumatic jackhammer to break up concrete and rocks during the deconstruction of planter boxes at the roundabout near billeting April 28, 2009, at RAF Mildenhall, England. The project was originally contracted to a civilian company, but for the first time Mildenhall Airmen will perform every aspect of the deconstruction and reconstruction process. According to Master Sgt. Joseph Lamberti, this move was to help CE airmen build team unity and morale while also saving the Air Force thousands of dollars in the process.
