AFAF comes to aid amidst worst circumstances
Blanketed in snow, a small wooden cross on the side of a road in Alaska serves as a peaceful reminder of a time when, for one Airman and his new wife, life was anything but peaceful. During the days following his mother-in-law's fatal car crash in Sept. 2006, the Air Force Assistance Fund helped get Staff Sgt. Austin M. May's wife, Kaitie, home to her family, taking a huge source of stress out of a trying time. (Contributed photo)
