Keeping it green
In recognition of Earth Week, Col. Eden Murrie, 100th Air Refueling Wing commander, participated in a ceremonial tree planting on Earth Day, April 22, near the Bob Hope Community Center. Col. Scott Brumbaugh, 100th ARW vice commander, Col. Jeffery Bateman, 100th Mission Support Squadron, and Lt. Col. Thomas Svoboda, 100th Civil Engineer Squadron commander, also followed suit and helped shovel soil to help plant the tree. The tree, a field maple, was planted as part of Earth Week events, which also included a conservation project at West Stow Anglo Saxon village and nature reserve, clean-up and replanting at the RAF Mildenhall Child Development Center, and pond dipping for children from Lakenheath Elementary School.
