Paris trip
Originally built as a temporary exhibit for the World Fair at the turn of the 20th century, the great tower endured because it could be used as a giant antenna. Visitors can take the stairs for free or pay for a ticket to ride the elevator. The best view of the Eiffel is at night, when it sparkles every hour. (U.S. Air Force photo by 2nd Lt. Kathleen Ferrero)
