SECAF honors RAF Mildenhall's 'Square D' heritage
Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James poses alongside a painting of Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress aircraft bearing the "Square D" tail code July 23, 2014, while standing outside the entrance to her office in the Pentagon, Washington D.C. James recently visited RAF Mildenhall, England, and learned how the 100th Air Refueling Wing is the only modern operational wing in the U.S. Air Force that is allowed to display the tail code of its World War II predecessor, the 100th Bombardment Group.
