Airman’s pride is booming
The image of an F-16 Fighting Falcon from Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, shows on the sunglasses of Senior Airman Devaughn Granger, 351st Air Refueling Squadron boom operator from Rome, N.Y., while he controls the boom of a KC-135 Stratotanker April 16, 2014, over Germany. RAF Mildenhall's fleet has the capability to refuel any type of U.S. and allied aircraft using either a boom or wing-mounted drogue system. As a boom operator, Granger is the Airman responsible for guiding the boom and refueling the receiving aircraft. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Kate Maurer/Released)
