A 67th Special Operations Squadron MC-130P Combat Shadow prepares to refuel a CV-22 Osprey Jan. 24, 2014, during the Shadow’s last flight in the U.K. Since the mid-1980s, the MC-130P has participated in special operations missions ranging from air refueling of the military’s vertical lift platforms; precision airdrop of personnel and equipment; and the execution of night, long-range, transportation and resupply of military forces across the globe. The latest addition to the 100th Air Refueling Wing’s fleet of KC-135 Stratotankers stands in the hangar Oct. 21, 2015, on RAF Mildenhall, England. The “Square D” decal, together with RAF Mildenhall’s station patch and heritage emblem – showing nine stars designed to acknowledge and represent the original nine KC-135s stationed at RAF Mildenhall from May to September 1992 – was placed on the tail of a tanker reassigned from McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., to the 100th Air Refueling Wing’s fleet.
