Thanksgiving service at Ely Cathedral

U.S. Air Force Chaplain (Lt. Col.) Henry Close, 100th Air Refueling Wing chaplain, offered a blessing during the Thanksgiving service Nov. 27, 2013, at Ely Cathedral. This service of thanks is conducted every year for U.S. service members, their families and other employees of RAF Mildenhall, RAF Lakenheath and RAF Feltwell. The service began in 1986 when a group of British parishioners, recognizing the importance of the holiday to Americans, opened the doors of Ely Cathedral in order for the U.S. service members and their families to worship and give thanks for God’s blessings.
