100th MXG commander participates in Remembrance Day
U.S. Air Force Col. Earl Scott, 100th Maintenance Group commander, salutes after laying a wreath during a Remembrance Day ceremony Nov. 9, 2013, in Bury St. Edmunds in Suffolk, England. The poppy was chosen as the symbol of remembrance because many British soldiers lost their lives in the poppy fields of Flanders, Belgium, during World War I. The day was originally named Armistice Day after World War I, which ended at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. The day was changed to Remembrance Day after World War II to honor all of the men and women who serve. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Kelsey Waters/Released)
