Eric Vangsness, 100th Maintenance Squadron hydraulics backshop assistant section chief from Decorah, Iowa, disassembles a C-130 brake in order to overhaul it and ensure it’s serviceable to be reused on an aircraft Nov. 1, 2013, on RAF Mildenhall, England. The 100th MXS hydraulics backshop personnel’s main role is to overhaul parts for all the aircraft on RAF Mildenhall. The personnel receive a part, completely disassemble every nut and bolt, inspect it, replace all worn components, re-assemble it, test it, then send it back out to be fitted to an aircraft.
