Deployed Mildenhall jet receives black-letter status

U.S. Air Force Maj. Charissa Cherrington, left, 351st Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron commander, poses with members of the maintenance crew for a KC-135 Stratotanker, tail number 63-8027, assigned to RAF Mildenhall but forward-deployed in support of contingency operations Oct. 22, 2013, at Moron Air Base, Spain. The crew received a Spanish tile with a screen printed image of 351st EARS personnel and their aircraft for achieving zero discrepancies, making it a black-letter aircraft. The tile will be mounted in the aircraft as a reminder of the maintenance crew’s achievement. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Dillon Johnston/Released)
