Energy-conservation actions, ideas help base make financial savings
Large gaps between and under doors such as these in Hangar 814 on RAF Mildenhall, England, let in drafts and allow heat to escape. The facility manager in Hangar 814, Staff Sgt. Maurice King, 100th Maintenance Group, is working on a project to install weather-stripping on the doors, which will fill the gaps and keep heat inside the building. This will reduce energy and costs, as radiators will not need to be kept on high and the facility will keep in the heat and stay warmer, providing a more comfortable workplace.
