Face to face with history — Team Mildenhall remembers fallen Airmen
U.S. Air Force Col. Nancy Bozzer, 100th Operations Group commander, lays a wreath at the base of a tree Sept. 28, 2013, where the Dorsal Queen, a B-17 Flying Fortress, crash landed after colliding with the Raunchy Wolf, another B-17 Flying Fortress, Sept. 26, 1943. After a ceremony commemorating the 70th anniversary of the collision of the two B-17s, Bozzer, along with several other Team Mildenhall Airmen, traveled to the crash site to lay a wreath and pay respect to the deceased. Out of the 20 service members onboard the two aircraft, only one tail gunner survived. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Preston Webb/Released)
