Face to face with history — Team Mildenhall remembers fallen Airmen
Lord Petre, Lord Lieutenant of Essex, provides a commemoration speech during a remembrance service Sept. 28, 2013, at the Church of All Saints, East Horndon, England. The service commemorated the 70th anniversary of the Sept. 26, 1943, mid-air collision of two B-17 Flying Fortresses — Dorsal Queen and Raunchy Wolf — killing 19 Americans returning to England following a bombing mission during World War II. Airmen assigned to RAF Mildenhall were invited to the ceremony to honor the deceased. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Preston Webb/Released)
