Firefighters respond to exercise, rescue ‘victims’

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Candice Thorpe, right, 100th Communications Squadron NCO in charge of parcel customer service from Dover, Del., is “rescued” by Team Mildenhall firefighters Sept 9, 2013, at the post office on RAF Mildenhall, England. As part of an operational readiness inspection, a mock fire exercise was conducted in the post office. Simulated victims were placed around the post office under cover of thick fake smoke in order to make the scenario as realistic as possible.
