Forecasters build backup weather sensor
U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Keith Bachand, 100th Operations Support Squadron weather forecaster from Canterbury, Conn., uses a compass to determine the direction in which a solar panel on a weather sensor points Aug. 26, 2013, on RAF Mildenhall, England. Bachand takes part in a routine training exercise to ensure the backup tactical meteorological observing sensor functions properly. For the most effective reading, the solar panel needs to point south. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Kyla Gifford/Released)
