100th CES preserves chapel’s historic items
U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Henry Close, left, 100th Air Refueling Wing chaplain, coins Airman 1st Class Scott Haeseler, 100th Civil Engineer Squadron structures journeyman from Mystic, Conn., Aug. 27, 2013, in the chapel on RAF Mildenhall, England. In 1982, His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, signed the official RAF Station Book on RAF Mildenhall. The cabinet housing the book had a broken piece of glass in it, and Haeseler helped David Spragg, 100th CES structures charge hand carpenter and joiner from Yorkshire, England, manufacture a new case out of materials left over from other base projects.
