Lifeline to refuelers: 100th LRS proves NKAWTG

Airman 1st Class Thomas Mahoney, 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron forward-area refueling point team member from Newark, Del., simulates setting up a FARP point for a receiver aircraft June 25, 2013, on RAF Mildenhall, England. In real-world situations, Mahoney and other FARP team members would perform hot refueling (aircraft with engines still running and rotor blades still turning) at night in austere locations. They use night-vision goggles and have to work in areas of limited visibility. RAF Mildenhall’s FARP team’s area of responsibility covers all of Europe and U.S. Air Force Africa Command.
