Landing to takeoff, maintainers ready planes

U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Justin Ashcraft, 100th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron debrief and supply focal point technician from Pine Bluff, Ark., radios into the production section to inform them of the status of an aircraft Sept. 12, 2014, on RAF Mildenhall, England. The debrief section works with the 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron during launches to order “redball” parts, crucial to ensuring an on time take off. “Redball” is when a jet is getting ready to fly and there is a technical fault. The priority of that jet becomes more urgent to ensure the jet can take off on time, or at least meet its window. (U.S. Air Force photo/Gina Randall/Released)
