USAFE wings rule sky with Iron Hand

An F-16 Fighting Falcon from the 31st Fighter Wing, Aviano Air Base, Italy, approaches for air refueling from a KC-135 Stratotanker from the 100th Air Refueling Wing, RAF Mildenhall, England, March 4, 2015, during Exercise Iron Hand over southern France. The aircraft were participating in a combined training event designed to enhance interoperability between the two wings and refine techniques and procedures. This type of planned, routine training allows for a key opportunity for U.S. Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa wings to work with each other to ensure they are ready to conduct real-world missions effectively and efficiently when called upon.
