Thorney Dyke 40th Anniversary ceremony
Flowers lay in front of a bronze plaque that reads the names of those lost in an aircraft crash Aug. 28, 1976, in Thorney, England. Local village residents and council members invited Airmen from RAF Mildenhall, England to attend the 40th Anniversary Aug. 30, 2016. All 14 crew members and four passengers died when a C-141 Starlifter from the 438th Military Airlift Wing, McGuire Air Force Base crashed at this location during a severe thunderstorm in route to RAF Mildenhall, England.
