Halyard Mission Commemoration
The 74th anniversarry of the Halyard Mission took place in this field outside Pranjani, Serbia, Sept. 22, 2018. Fields like this were used from Aug 1944 to Feb 1945, with the help of the Serbian population and the Yugoslav Armed Forces in the Homeland, to transport more than 500 U.S. and allied airmen from improvised runways in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to U.S. airbases in Italy.
