KC-135, tail 7999 – aka ‘Wolff Pack’ – retires from RAF Mildenhall after 59 years dedicated service
Aircraft 7999, a 59-year-old KC-135 Stratotanker, shows off its “retirement pin” after a retirement ceremony at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, England, Nov. 23, 2022. The jet is now at its final resting place at Davis-Monthan Air Base, Arizona, also known as “The Bone Yard” but the legacy “Wolff Pack” nose art will remain at RAF Mildenhall and be transferred to another aircraft. This was the first official retirement of a KC-135 at RAF Mildenhall. (U.S. Air Force photo by Karen Abeyasekere)
