RAFM ‘Dirt Boyz’ make CDC entrance safe, secure for pedestrian families, customers

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Isaiah Torres, left, 100th Civil Engineer Squadron Heavy Equipment and Pavements craftsman, and Paul Waites, 100th CES Heavy Equipment and Pavements foreman, rake soil to remove remaining weeds and stones after removing paving slabs next to the new pedestrian entry control point at the child development center at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, England, Sept. 7, 2023. As part of a base initiative to make the entrance area safer and more secure for CDC customers within the tri-base area, the heavy equipment and pavements Airmen, otherwise known as the “Dirt Boyz,” put up new fencing, replaced curbs and pathways, and added a concrete mini hardstand for an additional 100th Security Forces Squadron entry control point to provide easier and safer access for those walking across the main road from base to the CDC gate.
