100th ARW supports RAF RC-135 1st full transit of NATO air space

A U.S. Airman assigned to the 100th Air Refueling Wing prepares the boom pod on a KC-135 Stratotanker to provide fuel to another aircraft over Poland, Oct. 11, 2024. Aerial refueling allows other aircraft, such as fighters, bombers, and reconnaissance aircraft, to stay airborne longer without needing to land for fuel. This capability extends the operational range of the U.S. Air Force’s assets, enabling global reach and sustained operations far from home bases.
