Members of the 100th Maintenance Group begin to refuel U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft assigned to the 100th Air Refueling Wing during the first-ever “hot-pit refuel” of a KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft in all of U.S. Air Forces in Europe command at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, Jan. 8 2021. “Hot-pit refueling,” is another name for an engine-running refuel while the aircraft is grounded which will save time while securing persistent operations by significantly reducing generation times.
