RAF Mildenhall agencies practice crime scene processing
The room is silent and ominous. Blood is spattered on the wall, discarded weapons are scattered around the floor, and a body lies motionless in the corner. What sounds like a scene found from a crime drama, is in fact a training scenario. Airmen from the 100th Security Forces Squadron Intelligence and Investigations conducted crime scene processing training with Air Force Office of Special Investigations Detachment 512 and 100th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs for the first time here, Aug. 1, 2018.

Secretary Wilson returns to RAF Mildenhall, discusses innovation, strategy
When then second lieutenant Heather Wilson joined the Air Force in 1985, her very first assignment was to the 3rd Air Force at RAF Mildenhall. Now, as the Secretary of the Air Force, Wilson returned to RAF Mildenhall July 12 to learn about the new innovations the Airmen here have since created and to speak about the National Defense Strategy. “It’s been 30 years since I’ve been at RAF Mildenhall, and seeing how much it has changed, I can see that driving innovation is still one our top priorities,” Wilson said.

RAF Mildenhall saving lives one oxygen mask at a time
When an in-flight emergency happens, the last thing anyone wants to question is the condition of an oxygen mask, which could be the barrier between life and death. The 100th Operations Support Squadron aircrew flight equipment shop makes it their goal for that question never to be asked. The AFE shop is the insurance of the aircrew and keeps everything prepared just in case of an emergency.

With 24-hour operations and constant movement on the flightline, air traffic controllers are the guiding voice for all aircraft entering RAF Mildenhall airspace, keeping millions of dollars' worth of aircraft and pilots safe. How do they do it? The ever-watching eyes of the air traffic controllers from the 100th Operations Support Squadron keeps our skies and aircraft safe. They are the backbone to mission success at RAF Mildenhall.

Chef’s journey from DFAC to Pentagon
