Name and Rank:
Senior Airman Christopher M. Nowell

Unit: 100th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron

Duty Title: Electrical & Environmental Systems Specialist

Time in Service: 54 months

Time at RAF Mildenhall: 4 months

Hometown:
Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Hobbies: Spending time with my wife, jogging with my dog and taking classes when I can.

Core Value Portrayed:
Excellence in All We Do

How does the individual portray that core value?
Nowell has learned a new airframe in a minimal amount of time. He complies with every task given in a very timely manner and exceeds all expectations. He consistently motivates his peers and leadership by tackling the toughest tasks and training others with safe, by the book maintenance practices. His recent selection for promotion continues to show the unit that he is ready and willing to assume greater responsibilities.

Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?
I feel everyone should support his/her government/home country in any way, shape or form. Serving in the USAF is my contribution, and my privilege. I have not been in very long, but I have loved every minute of my service and look forward to becoming a supervisor to shape and mentor our Airmen.

What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of?
Personally, I am most proud of my marriage to my beautiful wife Danielle. Professionally, I am proud of attaining my CCAF Degree in Aviation Maintenance technology. I just found out that I was selected for promotion, so that is a significant step in my career. Bring on the daunting task of being a supervisor!!

What are your personal and/or professional goals?
My personal goal would be to turn my CCAF into a master's degree within the next 5 years, and my professional goal is to become the most proficient electrical/environmental technician possible on the KC-135.

What is your favorite part of your job?
I like the camaraderie that there is between my fellow co-workers. We work hard to get the jets flying, but we also like to hang out away from work. Additionally, coming into work every day is never dull, and no two days are the same; there is always something new to learn.
