• Chaplain Corps combats COVID-19 through virtual spiritual guidance

    The battle against COVID-19 has brought new challenges into daily life for RAF Mildenhall Airmen, their families, civilians and the community as a whole. To help cope with additional stresses and uncertainty in these times, the RAF Mildenhall Chaplain Corps has continued to provide spiritual guidance through various virtual platforms.
  • AFRC’s unrelenting support provides comforting constant in COVID-19

    The 100th Force Support Squadron Airman and Family Readiness Center at RAF Mildenhall, England, continues to provide unrelenting support for Airmen and families during the COVID-19 lockdown. The helping agency is still offering programs and services to the base, including the Transition Assistance Program, the Air Force Aid Society, military family life counseling, and financial readiness education.
  • 352d SOAMXS Support Section engineer 3D-printed face masks

    Two Airmen from the 352d Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 352d Special Operations Wing, based at RAF Mildenhall, England, took initiative when the DoD mandated the wearing of face masks and started using 3D printers to engineer face masks in an effort to combat the spread of Coronavirus. U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Alex Bruce, a SOAMXS equipment custodian for the MC-130J Commando II and U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Carl Martin, a SOAMXS support technician have produced more than 100 masks for their squadron in the past month.
  • Clearing the airspace

    RAF Mildenhall’s flightline, and the airspace above, is active 24 hours a day and requires constant supervision to ensure lives and property are kept safe. Air traffic controllers assigned to the 100th Operations Support Squadron provide overwatch of RAF Mildenhall’s skies and aircraft.
  • U.S. Turkish Air Force work together in fight against COVID-19

    A Turkish Airbus A400M Atlas landed at RAF Mildenhall, England to deliver COVID-19 medical supplies. Team Mildenhall Airmen were ready and waiting to assist the crew and refuel the aircraft, strengthening our mutual support of NATO allies during this difficult time.
  • 100th Maintenance Group Wins Maintenance Effectiveness Award

    The 100th Maintenance Group won the Category 2 Maintenance Effectiveness Award for 2019, recognizing it as the top medium-aircraft maintenance unit in the Air Force. The Maintenance Effectiveness Award is presented annually to the unit who has most successfully managed resources to provide safe and serviceable equipment for sustained use in peacetime and wartime.

  • Team Mildenhall transports COVID-19 equipment to Ghana

    Air mobility Airmen and contractors from the 727th Air Mobility Squadron based at RAF Mildenhall, along with the 9th Airlift Squadron, from Dover Air Force Base, Delaware recently took part in helping to deliver COVID-19 medical equipment to Accra, Ghana. The equipment, which included dry and wet ice, testing kits and other personal protective equipment, will be distributed to hot spots in the U.S. African Command area of responsibility.
