The Mildenhall Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a fast-paced informational briefing titled "Get to know your Thrift Savings Program" at the base theater Aug. 25.

The briefing will be presented by Paula Gradwell, TSP liaison specialist, for all active duty members and federal employees covered under the Federal Employees Retirement System or Civil Service Retirement System in two parts: "Money In" from 9 to 11 a.m. and "Money Out" from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Money In will provide an introduction to the TSP, its benefits, investment funds and participant statements, said Patricia Cotton, A&FRC community readiness consultant and personal financial manager. Money Out is geared to explain loan programs, in-service withdrawal and post-withdrawals options, spouses' rights, and death benefits.

"People may attend one or both parts, whatever fits their schedule," said Ms. Cotton. "I think anyone could benefit from these briefings, whether they're thinking about contributing or already contributing."

Ms. Gradwell is a member of the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board and an accredited financial counselor, a certified housing counselor and family life educator. She travels to military facilities to educate servicemembers on their TSP benefits.

"This information is really good because it is on [servicemembers'] 401K program," said Ms. Cotton. "As far as investing and planning for retirement goes, this could be the most important information. [Ms. Gradwell] is an expert, why not learn from the experts?"

Servicemembers are encouraged to attend both sessions, however may attend only one if they wish. For more information, contact the A&FRC at DSN 238-3406 or visit www.tsp.gov.
