ROYAL AIR FORCE MILDENHALL, England -- U.S. Airmen assigned to the 100th Air Refueling Wing conducted a readiness exercise at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, England, Nov. 1-4.
The exercise included several simulated events throughout the week to include suspicious activity outside the one of the installation's gates and a gate runner. The exercise capped off with a simulated aircraft mishap involving a KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft. The aircraft mishap simulated the aircraft skidding along the runway due to a nose landing gear failure, allowing emergency service personnel the opportunity to practice how they would respond in case of a real life incident.
