• 100th ARW increases readiness with new KC-135 variant

    The 100th Air Refueling Wing received a new model of a KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, Nov. 24. The 100th ARW is the last active-duty unit in the U.S. Air Force to receive the model, which is known as the Block 45 variant.

    Being constantly on the move was nothing new to Joe Urice, retired B-17 Flying Fortress aircraft tail gunner. Even at a young age, he was no stranger to relocation – which set him up well for life in the military – as his father, and eventually he, worked in the oil industry.
  • 100th ARW leadership participates in Remembrance Day event

    British Army and U.S. military service members stood alongside each other during a Remembrance Day ceremony to commemorate members of the armed forces who died in the line of duty in wars and other military conflicts since the onset of World War I. Remembrance Day is held in November of each year with the red poppy as the symbol of remembrance. 
  • Fallen veterans remembered at Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial

    More than 3,800 American heroes are buried within the Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial along with more than 5,126 names recorded on the Tablets of the Missing. Col. Gene Jacobus, 100th Air Refueling Wing commander, attended a memorial service Nov. 11, 2021, in memory of more than 400,000 American World War II service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice to preserve freedom.

  • 100th ARW hones ACE concepts during exercise Castle Forge

    U.S. Airmen assigned to the 100th Air Refueling Wing conducted a readiness exercise at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, RAF Fairford and Souda Bay, Greece, Nov. 1-4. During exercise Castle Forge, Airmen provided air refueling support for U.S. and allied aircraft, including U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer, MC-130J Commando II and Norwegian air force F-35A Lightning II aircraft. Castle Forge encompasses the USAFE-wide Agile Combat Employment capstone event, which will better enable forces to quickly disperse and continue to deliver air power from locations with varying levels of capacity and support, ensuring Airmen are always ready to respond to potential threats.

    Square D pride filled the air as U.S. Airmen past and present gathered together for the 100th Bomb Group reunion in Dallas, Texas, Oct. 28 to 30, 2021. Seven 100th Bomb Group veterans formerly stationed at Thorpe Abbotts, Norfolk, England, during World War II, joyfully met with some of today’s Airmen from the 100th Air Refueling Wing, Royal Air Force Mildenhall.
